30 people are employed directly onsite full-time, with more indirectly employed through fuel suppliers and hauliers to site.

Are there harmful air emissions from the plant?
The air emissions from the plant are regulated by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency who set the conditions of operation for the plant within the administered SEPA permit. See environmental section for more details of how Speyside CHP is supporting net zero targets.
How was the site location originally identified?
The site was selected from several considerations including its proximity to the heat offtaker Macallan distillery, having a viable connection to the National Grid, and use of existing forestry areas for screening to minimise visual impact of the site. In-depth location, visual, and noise impact assessments were also complete as part of planning and construction for the site.
